Birchbox February

so I previously reviewed my January birchbox, here's what I received for February.

So with the normal subscription (10$ a month) it ships out on the 1st with the goal to arrive by the 10th. I actually recieved it on the 6th.. so you can see I am little late on the review.  At the end of January I got an email that gave me 2 choices for February's box. I could choose Box A with my normal curated samples plus one sample of my choosing (it was a mascara, a cleanser or a spray) or Box B which was 5 samples from Guest Editor "Rent the Runway"- which had an eyeliner (yes please), lip gloss (yes please) and DRY SHAMPOOO!!!!

I chose Box B as the options sounded really exciting and let's face it- I am not a huge fan of surprises lol. So.. what did we get?

so we have the usual intro card with the items- which I was already expecting thanks to my lovely choice ;)

Derma e glycolic scrub: this was kinda an added extra. I wasn't super excited for it, nor was I unexcited. I have drier/normal skin so I am not big into face washing. I found this product to strip all my oils and not do much for my skin. The exfoliating particles are kinda nice but for me this product isn't a winner.

Fekkai Blowout: So I was excited for this product as it's a dry shampoo. I have used a ton of brands of dry shampoo and am ALWAYS looking for new ones. I LOVE dry shampoo- after the gym, on a Thursday, etc... you name it. lol Right now I have Clairol which smells okay but doesn't work awesome. I have used Tresemme before which is kinda sticky and you MUST wash that night or your hair looks horrible. I tried Lee Stafford also, and that brand has a terrible chemical smell. gross. This brand works pretty well and smells fine. It wasn't mind blowing but if it's on sale, it might be a safe bet ;)

Not Soap Radio: This was typical body/shower wash. Didn't leave me too dry and smells delicious. What else is there to say?

Read my Lips Balm: This was sticky but for a lip balm/gloss it's about what I expected. The color stays on a LONG time which I really appreciated. I was super excited for it and have it in my current purse to give my winter paleness some color.

Sumita eye liner.. so as you know from my January post, I received one of these in a gold color. I think we got off on the wrong foot that day because that gold eye liner has become one of my FAVORITES. And I never would have normally bought it. So there's a good 10$ use right there. Knowing that I liked the gold liner, I was pumped to try another color from this brand. This was a navy which is my usual go-to eyeliner color. This eyeliner works great on the water line and I LOVE the color. It wears all day long too. I may be a Sumita convert!!

So all in all, 10$ VERY well spent. for a small dry shampoo for the gym locker at Ulta, I'd pay 8-10$ easy. But now I got another wonderful eyeliner, lip balm and shower gel.  I could take or leave the face scrub.  I can't wait for March's box!! Try Birchbox yourself!

In March, I was also given a choose your own fate, so stay tuned to see what comes!!

Stitch Fix Review!

So I totally got my preggo StitchFix a week ago, just been super super busy.  So here we go...

So when the box arrives, there is an info card with the garments & style ideas.

So what did I get?

1) Avah Dolman Sleeve top:
It was cute and roomey but wasn't overly flattering from the front. Great for the Office

2) Potina Brushed Plaid Draped Cardigan with
3) Maternity Regular Length Jean (seen in all photos):
Looooved the cardigan. It was soft, beautiful and had a super unique pattern on the inside.  You can see also that the maternity jeans had a full belly band that came up past my boobs!! I liked them but already have 2 pairs of dark maternity jeans.

 4) Alysha Cap Sleeve Knit Top:

I hate the color red. haaaaaaaaaaaaaate it. but I loved this top so much, I overlooked that. This shirt was amazing & flattering. So pleased with it!!

5) Remy Split Neck Maternity Blouse
So I apparently didn't take a photo with this shirt.  It was a standard loose, flowy top.  If I didn't already own a ton like it, I would have kept it.

So what did I keep? #1, #2, and #4. I loved the jeans, I wish I had ordered a Maternity StitchFix weeks ago. They fit better than the 2 pairs I currently own, but I just couldn't explain owning 3 pairs of dark skinny maternity jeans.  So I highly encourage you try it yourself, it's only 20$ for them to style and send a box and that 20$ goes towards the purchase price of what you keep.  I have pretty much always found something I loved. It made maternity shopping EASY :)

Passing Time: Birchbox Review

So something I started doing to pass the time with TTC was online shopping. I mean I always shopped online but I used those dates to get me through the long two week wait stretches.  So instead of running to Target on a Tuesday after work, I'd just order what I needed from Amazon Prime and have it in 2 days. This would make me focus on Thursday and break up my wait period.

In my quest to past time, I was always interested in some mail order subscriptions- I hardly have time (or energy now ;) ) to get out and get little things like make-up.  So when I noticed some friends talking about Ipsy and Birchbox, I figured for 10$ why not. (I already made illusions to StitchFix in my last post- that's arriving TUESDAY!!)

So after careful consideration and reading a million blogs, I decided that I wanted skincare/haircare over just makeup and signed up with Birchbox. I got my first box this week!!

So what did I get....

The box is very cute. Ipsy sends you a makeup pouch every month, but who needs a million tiny pouches? I was appreciative of this recyclable box that won't live under my sink for 3 years.

On top there was a list of everything inside with a brief description.

First item- Sumita Contrast Liner. It's a beautiful gold color. I normally wear navy so it'll work well.

This is Which Body Butter. It's lavender scented and honestly I am not too much of a fan. It's a small size, and I may take it to my mom. The lotion was nice though and the brand comes in other scents.

Dr. Jart BB cream, I LOVE BB cream. especially now when my face is so dry and splotchy.  I was really excited to try another brand.

Harvey Prince Perfume. I am a pretty big burberry loyalist, but sometimes it's nice to try new things. this was not one of those things. In my preferences I turned off perfumes. ;)

I also got an exfoliating face wash by Vasanti which I apparently didn't photograph. Oops. it is AMAZING. best thing in the whole box!

so for 10$ I was pretty pleased. I got to try new products and brands and never had to leave the house! And I really love snail mail. Give birchbox a try yourself!
