21 week update!

we're on the back 9.. or rather back 4.5? lol. gosh, if I had 9 more months I might slap someone!

21 week update

How far along? 21 weeks +/- 2 days (I'm a little late!!)
Total weight gain: wait for it... 6 pounds. WHAT. yes. six. 6. ouch. that HURT. 

Maternity clothes?! yes! My StitchFix is scheduled to arrive Tuesday. I am so anxious to see what they found for me. I also finally surrendered my jogging capris for some roomier maternity jogging pants and boy was it AMAZING! I should have bit the bullet sooner! 

Stretch marks? still none. but I am growing FAST.

Sleep: ehh charlie is a night ninja. and my hips hurt. sleep is for the weak!

Miss anything? beer. always.

Movement/Symptoms: charlie is one of the most active babies ever according to the doc! haha Hubster FINALLY felt him move!!

Food cravings: breakfast foods. artificial grape? is that a thing?

Anything making you queasy or sick: food aversion still. the doctor said food may always be rough. [same]

Gender: it's a boy! 

Symptoms: new symptom- hip/ligament pain. the doctor said since I am predisposed to loose joints that my hips could be prematurely separating. so now I get a girdle. WOOHOO. AWESOME

Belly button in or out? In 

Wedding rings on or off? Off.. I haven't gotten it fixed but just wearing my wedding band and 5 year anniversary band feels comfy.

Happy or moody most of the time: angry. all the time. just angry. [still]

Looking forward to:  25 weeks for viability purposes. my stitchfix.. getting to May

Passing Time: Birchbox Review

So something I started doing to pass the time with TTC was online shopping. I mean I always shopped online but I used those dates to get me through the long two week wait stretches.  So instead of running to Target on a Tuesday after work, I'd just order what I needed from Amazon Prime and have it in 2 days. This would make me focus on Thursday and break up my wait period.

In my quest to past time, I was always interested in some mail order subscriptions- I hardly have time (or energy now ;) ) to get out and get little things like make-up.  So when I noticed some friends talking about Ipsy and Birchbox, I figured for 10$ why not. (I already made illusions to StitchFix in my last post- that's arriving TUESDAY!!)

So after careful consideration and reading a million blogs, I decided that I wanted skincare/haircare over just makeup and signed up with Birchbox. I got my first box this week!!

So what did I get....

The box is very cute. Ipsy sends you a makeup pouch every month, but who needs a million tiny pouches? I was appreciative of this recyclable box that won't live under my sink for 3 years.

On top there was a list of everything inside with a brief description.

First item- Sumita Contrast Liner. It's a beautiful gold color. I normally wear navy so it'll work well.

This is Which Body Butter. It's lavender scented and honestly I am not too much of a fan. It's a small size, and I may take it to my mom. The lotion was nice though and the brand comes in other scents.

Dr. Jart BB cream, I LOVE BB cream. especially now when my face is so dry and splotchy.  I was really excited to try another brand.

Harvey Prince Perfume. I am a pretty big burberry loyalist, but sometimes it's nice to try new things. this was not one of those things. In my preferences I turned off perfumes. ;)

I also got an exfoliating face wash by Vasanti which I apparently didn't photograph. Oops. it is AMAZING. best thing in the whole box!

so for 10$ I was pretty pleased. I got to try new products and brands and never had to leave the house! And I really love snail mail. Give birchbox a try yourself!

20 week update

How far along? 20 weeks +/- 1 day
Total weight gain: still about 2 pounds.. which I am starting to gather is pretty low

Maternity clothes?! yes! I ordered a new StitchFix to help find cuter maternity clothes! I used it before and was amazed by the results! I will post this time to show y'all!

Stretch marks? bump popped!! but no stretch marks yet. skin still hurts!!

Sleep: I lay half on my tummy and half on my side. it seems to work pretty well.

Miss anything? beer. always.

Movement/Symptoms: he's a ninja. hubster & I went on run today & he was craaaazay in there.

Food cravings: breakfast foods.

Anything making you queasy or sick: food aversion still. the doctor said food may always be rough. [same]

Gender: it's a boy! 

Symptoms: nausea.. again. but at least I finally look pregnant.

My parents have graciously offered to buy it for us.

Anatomy scan and usual update

So I totally meant to post 5 days ago with our "20 week" anatomy scan results but got REALLY busy this week at work so.. it didn't happen. Chronologically...

Monday we had our appointment to see little man:

He's so skinny!! He weighs 10oz and apparently has no fat which is why his face looks so creepy skeletal. But as he gains weight it will fill out. The doctor wasn't concerned so neither were we. So he's definitely a boy.. not that we were concerned lol. At the time we were 18 + 3. The stats:

legs: 18+5

arms: 18+6

body: 18+6

head: 18+10

so his little head is STILL huge. lol he was really stubborn too, he wouldn't let the tech count his fingers or toes so now we have to go back in 2 weeks for more measurements. Not that I am heartbroken, I love seeing him!

19 week update

How far along? 19 weeks +/- 1 day
Total weight gain: got on the scale.. wasn't too bad. I think I am officially up a little over 2 pounds.

Maternity clothes?! yes. I want more leggings and undershirts lol [same]

Stretch marks? nope still itchy itchy itchy skin. I don't really have a "bump" yet either :( [same]

Sleep: I lay half on my tummy and half on my side. it seems to work pretty well.

Miss anything? beer. always.

Movement/Symptoms: he's a mad man! when I eat, he moves. when I exercise, he moves. he's so crazy busy down there. 

Food cravings: eggs benedict. mmm just thinking about it sounds delicious.

Anything making you queasy or sick: food aversion still. the doctor said food may always be rough. 

Gender: it's a boy! we're back on Team Charles

Symptoms: fatness. I don't look pregnant, just fat.

Looking forward to:  Seeing Charlie on the 23rd. That feels like forever away :( I want to get his nursery worked on too!

4.5 months! woohoo

We're almost half way!

18 week update

How far along? 18 weeks +/- 1 day
Total weight gain: still avoiding the scale, we have a U/S appt Monday and an ob appt Tuesday

Maternity clothes?! yes. I want more leggings and undershirts lol

Stretch marks? nope still itchy itchy itchy skin. I don't really have a "bump" yet either :(

Sleep: I want to sleep on my belly. but Charlie Bee won't let me- he fights up a storm.

Miss anything? blue moon beer with an orange. [same.. :( ]

Movement/Symptoms: moving, cruising constantly. when he gets stronger, I have no clue how I will focus or sleep!

Food cravings: sushi. but overall, food is still tough.

Anything making you queasy or sick: food aversion and sour stomache, - STILL! at 18 weeks. bah

Gender: it's a boy! although we may be back to the name game.

Symptoms: exhaustion. fatness. bloat. I can't breathe?

Looking forward to:  We see little Bee on MONDAY!! woohooooooooooooooo I would love to get his name settled but hubster is in no rush.

so 2 topics for discussion. 

1) lack of breath

I have no clue what is going on but I cannot breathe. I know Bee isn't big enough yet to be impairing lung function but holy crap. and it's winter so it can't be my allergies. My lungs are locked up tighter than the US treasury.

2) the name game

Last week, DH announced that he really likes the name Charlie for a girl. In particular, Charlie Rose. I loove the name but that takes us back to square one of the name game. I really like the names Sullivan or Sebastian. DH doesn't like Sebastian, but we are stumped when it comes to middles names for either. Removing Charles really puts a damper on our naming business. UGH
